The Interrelationship
of Individual and Organizational Leadership, Culture and Change
With today's organizations having to continually adapt to
the speed of change, people are looking for more leadership
direction and guidance. Organizational visions, missions and
strategic and operational plans must be crystal clear, well
defined and articulate. Organizational structuring and, when
necessary, restructuring must be based on proactive strategic
thinking rather than reactive and regressive thinking and
response.
People confuse leadership (an art) with management (a science).
Although both overlap, there are distinct differences
in definition, perception and practice. Leadership is an interactive
process, with success depending on both individual initiative
and teamwork. Leaders must communicate openly throughout the
organization, inspire people through trust and a sense of
creative urgency, and let people get on with the task and
work without unnecessary interference. People want to be appreciated
and challenged.
This 2-day seminar will provide a synopsis of the following:
- The characteristics of a leader, of leadership, and empowerment
in the modern organization
- Understanding both individual and organizational leadership
concepts, types and styles
- Assessing and understanding personality types and traits
and their relationship to leadership development and application
- Team / group dynamics and leadership
- Types of organizational cultures and their relationship
with each other
- Relating and realizing the differences of strategic and
operational leadership
- The interrelationship of organizational and individual
leadership, culture and change
Participants will explore, discuss and critique the issues
and concerns that they themselves bring to the seminar. Participants
will create a blueprint of personal as well as organizational
leadership through interactive small and large group discussions,
leadership videos and assessment tools.

review the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a personality
self-assessment tool. The MBTI will be used as a guide to
the understanding of the various leadership characteristics
and styles, and the influence and impact of personality to
the practice of leadership. One of a leader's greatest attributes
